School Tuckshop Menu- healthy eating

“Educating the whole child, includes the heightening of awareness of healthy eating habits leading to the manifestation of living in healthy bodies.  We transformed our tuck-shop as one of our goals during 2012 to become a source of healthy eating options for the school child who spends more than 7 hours per day on our campus.  The menu and quality of product was totally reviewed, now it includes wholesome meals that provide nutritional value maintaining the energy levels of our children. Food is prepared by grilling and steaming.  Fried foods are kept at a minimum. Fizzy drinks are not sold at our tuck-shop.  Stocks of sweets and chocolates are limited to a small variety sold in the bite size options.  Guidelines used when reviewing the Menu was that provided by the heart foundation.  At Sagewood School we realise the importance of educating the child holistically.  Hence every facet of school life is carefully considered by the management team of Sagewood School.  Decisions taken always centre and focus on the well-being of our children, staff and parents.” Sagewood Management Team
