RIP Aziza Hendricks

Dear Friends

It is with deep sadness that I write this message. We learned during the course of last week that Mrs. Aziza Hendricks had been taken to hospital in a critical condition and her circumstances were extremely serious.

Sadly, we learned on Monday that Mrs Hendricks passed away. This news is a shock to many, as it is to us. The family asked for privacy at this time and we will respect their wishes and ask you do the same.
On behalf of the Sagewood School community, our thoughts and prayers go out to Aziza’s family for their tragic loss.

As a school, we will make the appropriate arrangements to remember Mrs Hendricks. She has been part of the school for many, many years and her loss as a friend, colleague and integral part of the school is immeasurable.

Sincerely yours
Mr. Brian Dawson
Acting Executive Officer

Tree Planting Event 4 June

We are proud to announce that the Tree planting event was a great success!!

We would like to acknowledge and appreciate the following Sagewood parents who have created a lifelong legacy for their children:
  • Bongiwe Chimhandamba (Parent Association)
  • Jennifer Joni
  • Musa Shangase
  • Busisiwe Mahlangu
  • Veronica Seekoe
  • Mukesh Makanjee (plus donation towards painting the wall)
  • Sohanna Balipursad
  • Bulelwa Makeke
  • Davida Ngozwana
  • Karabo Mphahlele

They pledged and planted these trees as part of the “REFRESHING THE SCHOOL GARDENS PROJECT” which is an initiative by the Parent Association. The aim of this project is to enhance the school gardens, by landscaping the front entrance and admin block areas. This would involve:
·         The establishment of a reading garden;
·         Planting 50 trees at various sites in the school; and
·         Painting the wall behind the admin block and planting 300 shrubs in that area.

Today’s event forms part of the “College Walk” - a designated route from the Admin Building to the College.
